More about our handyman services

The list is long on purpose. We rarely do the same job twice in a row, and that variety is the reason the service list covers so much ground. Our two most profitable kinds of work are punch lists and commercial property maintenance, then finish carpentry, then drywall repair and paint touch-up, and the pages above run in roughly that order.

What ties them together is the visit. There is a minimum to show up for a short job, so the best use of a trip is a list: a sagging door, a patch of drywall, a loose fence post and a few pictures to hang can all share one. A real example from our own jobs was a Hardie siding repair, some minor drywall touch-up, a front door that had started to sag and light bulbs to replace, done in about two hours.

The license is the other thread. To The T Handyman Services holds a full Utah general contractor license rather than working under the handyman exemption, so a job that grows once a wall is open, or turns out to need a permit, can stay with the same contractor. The long version is in our guide to Utah handyman licensing, and the definition of a list is in What Is a Punch List?

Three trades stay off every list: electrical, plumbing, and anything to do with decks. That is said before booking, so you can line up the right trade without losing a week.

Other handyman work we take on in Box Elder and Weber counties

A few items on the wider list do not have a page of their own. They get handled as part of a punch list or home repair visit.

  • Staircase installation: Hardwood, laminate or LVP stairs. Covered in detail on the finish carpentry page.
  • Gate repair: Gates that drag or will not latch get squared and re-hung. Powered gate openers are electrical, so they are not ours.
  • Caulking: Sealing cracks, gaps and holes to cut drafts and give a room a cleaner, more uniform look.
  • Furniture assembly: Furniture put together and set up, including a Murphy bed one customer reviewed us for.
  • Picture, art and mirror hanging: Decor hung level and secure, usually as one line on a longer list.
  • Fixture installation: Shelves, curtain rods and shutters. Light fixtures and sinks involve electrical or plumbing work, which we do not do.
  • Assisted living modifications: Grab bars in a tub or shower, nonskid floors, and door knobs that are easier to use.
  • Residential property maintenance: General repairs for homes and rentals, grouped into one visit instead of a string of callouts.

Which service page do I need?

FAQs

Handyman services: frequently asked questions

Are you licensed and insured for handyman work in Brigham City?

We hold a full Utah general contractor license, License No: 13021266-5501 (held by Precision Cut Construction LLC), which you can check on Utah DOPL's public licensee lookup. The business carries insurance.

Is there a minimum charge for handyman work in Box Elder or Weber County?

Yes. Short jobs under two hours carry a minimum, which we confirm before you book. We do not publish a set figure, and it is why stacking several small jobs into one visit is far better value than booking them one at a time.

What work will you not take on in Box Elder or Weber County?

No electrical, no plumbing, and nothing to do with decks. We tell you before booking rather than starting a job and stopping halfway.

Can one visit cover several of these services at a house in Brigham City or Ogden?

Yes, and that is usually the cheapest way to do it. A punch list visit exists so several unrelated repairs get handled in one trip.

Do you work in Ogden as well as Brigham City?

Yes. Brigham City is home base and Ogden is one of our primary service areas. The working radius runs roughly 30 to 40 miles, across Box Elder and Weber counties and up to Logan.
